Discover yourself; Know your future

      Since I was 14, I knew that my major would be Public Relations and Advertising. Thus, it is astonishing for me to see people at an undergraduate level, not knowing what their Bachelor's degrees would be in. Although high schools offer students with a wide range of courses to learn and gain knowledge from, some students are unaware of what interests them most. Often, many such students end up in fields of study that are popular among other students, but do not interest the student him/her self. Hence, once they enter a two year college or four year university, they spend a large amount of money on courses that may not even count for their future major, leading them to spend more than the usual time in institutions, a late starting career, and eventually a lot of debt.

       However, this issue can be resolved by looking deeper into yourself, and recognizing your interests and hobbies. High school can prove to be the best time to discover not only your talents, but also your capabilities that can help you figure out a major for yourself. Some of the ways that can help people determine what suits them best is by recognizing what courses interest them most, what current events gain their attention, and what kinds of activities do they spend more time doing for personal satisfaction. Most importantly, know what you want out of your career, i.e, money, fun, personal satisfaction, or everything. Once you are aware of what you like, it narrows down your choices, and makes the decisions about your future a lot easier. Discover yourself; know your future.
